WLVBC 2017 Day Camp Program
WLVBC and its Volleyball Technical Director, Joe Norton, have created a unique training opportunity for local club players.
WLVBC Summer Camp Technical Director
Joe joins WLVBC from George Mason University, where he serves as Assistant Head Coach of the Men’s Volleyball program. Norton was also a four year starter for Mason, playing in an Outside Hitter role for the team. He hails from Buffalo, NY where we began playing volleyball at 16, and participated in USAV’s High Performance juniors program. In 2017, Joe worked with WLVBC club teams as a clinician, and will work with WLVBC in the 2017-2018 season as a fundamentals tactician – working on form and skills development for the Club program.
Joe will oversee all aspects of the camp, including on court teaching, mental approaches to the game and strategy discussions.
WLVBC Summer Camp Coach
AJ will serve as one of the camp’s on court instructors. AJ was a two time All-American middle hitter at Endicott College, a division III school based in Beverly, MA. AJ has served as an assistant coach at Endicott, Union College and George Mason, and is currently a PE teacher in Fairfax County.
WLVBC Camp Operations Director
Jordan will serve as the Operations Director, overseeing the non-volleyball training aspects of the program, including arrival and departures, scheduling, and social activities. Jordan was a two-year varsity middle hitter at Loudoun Valley High School, and played Club at WLVBC and Nova East. She is currently a freshman at The University of Alabama, where she plays club and intramural volleyball.
This will be an advanced level camp where Joe and his team will help players to build on fundamentals, skills, strategic play, dealing with the "mental" part of the game, and of course lots of game play!
We’d love to have you join us! This will be a local, high level training opportunity, with college coaches helping grow your player’s game, while keeping in mind WLVBC’s Motto: When We Serve Well, Good Things Happen.

WLVBC’s Day Camp is coed and open to all players in the region who have previous Club or High School playing experience. This camp is designed for players looking to move beyond the basics, and build on the foundation they have created with their current teams. Players will participate in fast-paced, game-like scenarios, be introduced to game strategy and mental approaches to the game and participate in age-grouped managed play. The program is being designed to ensure coaches have an opportunity to learn your player’s understanding of the game, and begin to build on the foundation they have created.
