Board of Directors
Matt Croson has served as Director of WLVBC since 2014. A volunteer position, Croson is responsible for the overall WLVBC program, working in partnership with the all volunteer Board of Directors. During his tenure, WLVBC has built off of its legacy foundation of supporting affordable, local volleyball playing opportunities to include U13-U18 girls teams, U14-U18 boys teams, sold out Saturday Skills and Scrimmages fundamentals training Skills development clinics and the most recent addition, a sand program. Croson also coaches for WLVBC, having worked with the U16 and U14 age groups and SSS program. Croson has more than 20 years of association management experience, including managing both C6 and C3 non-profit trade associations and foundations. He is currently President of the American Gear Manufacturers Association, and brings his association experience to all aspects of managing WLVBC.
Virginia Canard started on the WLVBC board in August 2014 for the love of the game and the girls involved. Virginia served as Treasurer for 2 seasons and now serves as our Director of Operations and Facilities Coordinator.
Virginia is a native of Loudoun County for 50 years, and has lived in Philomont since she was 2. She now lives there with her husband and 2 daughters.
Chris Steigerwald stepped in as treasurer starting the 2016 club season. Prior to starting a family, Chris spent ten years as a Registered Investment Advisor with the Capital Financial Group.
During her daughter's second year playing for WLVBC, Chris agreed to take a leadership role in the club and volunteer in this role. She & her husband have lived in Western Loudoun for over 15 years. They have three kids and a dog.
Lisa Nguyen joined the Board in Fall 2015 as our Communications and Public Relations person. She manages the website, creates communication flyers, submits articles to the local papers, and most recently assisted with the running of the sand program. She has also served as the local representative for the Loudoun Youth Volleyball League (LYV) out of Blue Ridge Middle School since 2013. Lisa is Safesport and IMPACT Certified.
Lisa has 2 daughters that have been on WLVBC teams in the past and her husband is currently a coach for the program. Lisa and her family have lived in Purcellville for 15 years.
Greg Fortunato has coached with WLVBC for four different seasons and has also been the Freshman team head coach at Woodgrove High School for two seasons now.
